  • Mark Knopfler is part of that handful of musicians, along with the likes of David Byrne, Ry Cooder and Robbie Robertson, who focus on expanding beyond anything they've done while still tapping into the rich history of past musics from all over the world.
    I have a whole lot of respect for that kind of growth.
