no its not McCain vs Obama... McCain is gunna die before he gets sworn in. Palin, though seemingly off, is more human than McCain and that's why she's getting the press/support. McCain is dry like a desert or a 150yr old man.

The people that are excited about Palin just need too wait 5 minutes the excitement will be over.

@ satanskidney: What does being dry or boring have to do with anything? I'm sick of people thinking the Presidential election is a high school campaign or a popularity contest. We aren't electing the prettiest or the best motivator, etc...we're electing the most qualified.

@kennymotown: There's plenty about Palin to be excited about...I doubt it will die down.

the most qualified is not always the case... if it were then why would bush have been there for the past 8 years? it often times breaks down into basic things like how well the politician speaks, how they look and if they're constant in their positions. you may not think that those are important but a lot of people watch five minutes of a debate and then vote a few months later based on what theyve seen.

What the election SHOULD be about is an issue by issue breakdown.

I wonder how the election would turn out if people voted issue by issue, and then the person to become president is the one whose positions line up most closely to the electorate.

Regardless, we need to quit discussing why these "People" we are voting on are so "great" and start discussing the issues at hand.

Honestly I don't care if Palin is a redneck. I don't care if Obama has a funny name. I do care about our economic health, and I do care about people's rights, and i do care about our international policy. So should everyone else, because the nuts and bolts of the policy is what defines the health of the nation.

The people we elect don't matter as much as the policies we elect matter.

We will never get anywhere with "my guy is better!" "no, my guy is better!" childishness.

Solutions come from ideas, not from people.

Molly, liberals don't lie anymore than conservatives do. It would do our country well to stop this insecure misleading of people that happens. i swear it seems that everyone has short guy syndrome when it comes to politics. Whatever happened to supporting what governmentally functions best for people rather than "whatever it was I supported in the beginning."

Lets start discussing the corn flakes, and not the box they come in.
