Cheesiest chat-up lines ever?
A new survey of more than 400 people in the UK has revealed the cheesiest chat-up lines. Participants were also asked to give the name of a celebrity most likely to use the line in question.
According to the study, the classic "Your dad must be a thief because he stole the stars and put them in your eyes" is believed to be the most embarrassing chat-up line with reality TV veteran Calum Best voted the person most likely to say it.
People believed humour was the best way of chatting somebody up with over 50 per cent of those surveyed saying comedy lines work best on them, such as "Do you have any raisins? How about a date?" and "Are you Jamaican, because you're Jamaican me crazy" among the most popular.

Danny Howell’s Renaissance album interview
What was your overall approach to constructing a Renaissance mix?
With this mix, I had no clue as to what direction to take musically. It was a case of literally going through all of my music and pulling out all my favourite tunes, regardless of genre, from the last two or three years mainly. I don’t really worry too much about being super-upfront on a CD, because it’s something that will hopefully stay in people’s collections for a while, so I think timelessness is more important that being upfront. Once I’d collated all of my favourites I realised that a lot of them were in the melodic, deep house vein so that kind of gave me the direction in which to go.
Renaissance has a rich reputation in the mix CD spectrum. How do you feel about being given the opportunity to contribute to the series?
Well it’s my second CD for them, but the first one I’ve done on my own. It’s a great opportunity, they’re a company I respect immensely and have a great history.
How would you describe the sound of the mix?
It’s house, ranging from very deep to more peak time, but the bulk is very laid-back and also melodic and warm. I didn’t really feel a need to be super-trendy or minimal; I think there’s enough of that out there. I just used music I feel very passionate about and hopefully will still enjoy in years to come. Kanye West to open restaurant chain
The outspoken and never shy rapper, Kanye West, will be opening up a Fatburger in Orland Park, which is located on the southwest suburban area of Chicago, next month. According to a spokesperson of Fatburger Corp., Kanye West's KW Foods LLC, has the rights to develop 10 Fatburgers in the Chicago area and plans to open another one in January at 95th and Western Avenue in the Beverly neighborhood.
Fatburger, which primarily calls California home, is a popular fast-food chain. This will be the first restaurant in Chicago.

DMX To Have New Reality Show
DMX will be starring in his own reality show which has yet to be picked up by any network, but it's said that there are many networks interested. The show will follow DMX’s attempt to resolve a string of legal problems, which include six arrests since May of 2008, the most recent one occurring last week in Miami, Florida.
DMX said in a statement, “In many ways, my life has been an open book,[But] I haven’t always been the one writing the story. With this show; however, people will get to see and hear with their own eyes and ears what really goes on in my life and I think they’ll come to understand me a little bit better with each episode.”
The show, titled "DMX: This Life Of Mine" is being produced by Platinum Entertainment. CEO Ernie Romero said, "“When we were approached about doing this show, we knew right away that we wanted to be involved...DMX is a complex man and this show will reveal his many sides: the street side and the spiritual side, all rolled up in one.”
X feels this is a good opportunity for people to see him in a different light and maybe get some sort of understanding outside what is being pushed in the media lately. His statement was concluded by saying, “After watching this show, people will come to realize that despite all the stories and all the rumors about me, despite how well they may think they know me, there is another side to DMX that they have never seen and hopefully, it will make people question what they see and hear about me in the future."

Suge Knight Arrested On Felony
Suge Knight, the former CEO of Death Row Records, was arrested yesterday in a domestic dispute involving his girlfriend in which he supposedly was wielding a knife. The incident happened at approximately 6:40 a.m. in Las Vegas, Nevada. After officers arrived at the scene of a minor traffic accident, they found Knight hitting a woman in a parking lot off a busy thoroughfare.
"A citizen sees the beating in a parking lot, police get there fast, they see him beating her. It's a good solid case," said Las Vegas police Lt. Chris Carroll.
Although the woman was not stabbed, she was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Police did not release the woman's name or age, but said she identified herself as Knight's girlfriend of three years.
"This is a very large man," Carroll said, estimating his weight at more than twice the woman's. "He was on top of her, actually in the act of violently beating her when the officers arrived, with the knife in his hand."He received felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor charges of possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription and domestic violence. Knight had Ecstasy and Hydrocodone when he was arrested.

I have really bad timing
I've been reading alot about Detox lately--specially since it's supposed to hit stores in the next 30 days, which I highly doubt due to the death of Dre's son (RIP). Anyways, reading about it and checking out the feedback from fans on blogs and message boards one question lingers in the back of my mind.
What's the hype?
Why is everyone anticipating Detox?
Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Dre, The Chronic 2001 was a good album, he's a great producer, and definitely has an eye for talent. But as far as rapping goes, what is he, like top 30?
Is it all the ghost writers he has working on Detox?
Is it the potential collabos with 50 and Eminem that has everyone on the edge of their seats?
I mean, Lil Wayne said he was ghost writing some of Dre's verses, Do you really think you're going to get the same product as The Chronic/2001 from that guy? (Don't front, Tha Carter 3 was a HUGE disappointment).
So what is it exactly that has every god damn hip hop fan waiting for this album like it's the second coming?
Someone put me on to the hype.

SOHH Exclusive: Young Jeezy's Recession More Than Music, "We Spend Money...
With Young Jeezy’s new album, The Recession, hitting stores today, SOHH decided to catch up with various members of the hip-hop community to get their take on our nation’s declining economy and rising gas prices.
When it came time to start recording his third album, Def Jam rapper Young Jeezy wanted to attack a subject matter that everyone in America can relate to, the current economic recession.
“The economy is different, The world is different so I just wanted to address it [and] at the same time still make good music,” he said.
“When you get in a position when you above a lot of things sometimes you don’t take the time to look down. I wanted to deal with it and take it on.”
For Jeezy, the current recession has caused him to take a second look at his extravagant purchases. “What do you need that for? You don’t need it,” he said of his iced out watch. “You can tell time with a Timex really. Basically what I was trying to say is how we spend money in bad times on dumb shit, things that we can do without.”
The rapper says he didn’t hesitate to record those revealing lyrics because he views himself as a regular person. “I’m not looking at it from a rapper’s perspective. I’m looking at it from a man’s perspective, a grown man,” he said. “I mean as far as everyday living, I gotta fill up my gas tank just like everybody else.”
High gas prices are where most hip-hop artists are feeling the pinch. In fact, R&B singers J. Holiday and Bobby Valentino were the only celebrities SOHH spoke with who said they weren’t affected at the pump. “Oh I’m cool. I ain't really worried about it,” said J. Holiday. “I put the right kind in my car so my car don’t eat up my gas.”
Bobby Valentino echoed his sentiments saying, “I’m very blessed to not even look at the high gas prices. I don’t even look at the gas tank when I go pump I just fill it up,” he said.
For everyone else, gas is a major issue. Even Diddy, who raked in a cool $35 million last year according to Forbes magazine, is starting to cut back on his spending. In a recent YouTube video blog entitled, “Gas Prices are Too High,” the mogul revealed that he parked his private jet and was opting to fly commercial instead.
“Gas prices are too motherf*cking high,” he declared as he boarded an American Airlines aircraft. “I’m actually flying commercial that’s how high gas prices are so I feel you. We need to do something about this so tell whoever the next president is, we need to bring gas prices down.”
Like his label head, Bad Boy South rapper Gorilla Zoe is also hoping that the next president will offer some relief. “Listen man, you gotta go vote,” he said. “It ain't no work in the streets and gas is 5 dollars. We need some change. Them folks rape the sh*t out of us, man.”
Mississippi rapper David Banner isn’t optimistic that our generation will do anything to affect change but he did offer some food for thought by drawing a connection between President Bush’s family history in the oil business and current gas prices.
“Isn’t is amazing that we have a president whose family has a vested interest in gas and oil? Isn’t it funny that the year he’s going out of office gas prices are higher than they’ve ever been in history?” he asked. “That’s the kinda stuff I think we should be talking about.”
In addition to urging fans to get out and vote, hip-hoppers also offered some alternative solutions. DJ Unk best known for his hit song, “Walk it Out” shared his creative remedy for recession fever. “I’m riding around in a scooter right now,” he said. “I’m beating the gas prices. Seven dollars will get me up for two days. Russell Crowe as Bill Hicks?
Not sure how I missed the news that Russell Crowe wants to play Bill Hicks in a biopic of the late comedian. The actor is quoted talking about the project here, and a recent radio interview with longtime Hicks collaborator Kevin Booth (h/t to the Dead Frog comedy blog) confirms Crowe's role in commissioning a screenplay, which is not yet finished. I'm also not sure how I feel about the idea, since Crowe (who's not known for his jocular side) is already 12 years older than Hicks was when he died at 32, and since a botched biopic would trivialize Hicks as just another E! True Hollywood Story casualty, a guy who smoked too much and courted controversy and died of cancer on the cusp of fame. On the other hand, Booth's participation should ensure that Hicks gets the respect he deserves; and Crowe is protean and versatile enough to play pretty much anybody (Exhibit A: The Insider). Besides, Crowe reportedly wants to focus on performance sequences than biographical scenes, and anything that gets Hicks' legendary stand-up material more circulation (even in mimicked form) is good. Electrosmog enters the dictionary
"Electrosmog", "eco-village" and "carbon footprint" are among the new environmental terms which have made it into the latest Chambers Dictionary.
Popular culture has also had an influence, with "wardrobe malfunction" and "fashion forward" also included. "Credit crunch" and "wags", which have recently won places in other dictionaries, also feature. Dictionary editors said the new words painted a "vivid picture of current interests and concerns".
"Electrosmog" refers to the electromagnetic fields emitted by computers and mobile phones, "eco-village" is a term used for small ecologically-sustainable communities and "carbon footprint" is the measure of the impact human activities on the environment. They are joined by two other environmental terms, "food miles" and "green tax", in the 11th edition of the dictionary.
The war on terror also contributes to the edition with "blue-on-blue", referring to friendly fire attacks, "extraordinary rendition", a controversial detention method where a person is moved from one state to another, and "watch list", a list of those being monitored.
From the world of science and technology, "blu-ray", the blue laser used to read and write discs, "quantum computer", a computer that makes use of quantum mechanics, and "metamaterial", an artificially-created material which has properties not found in nature, make the pages.
Along with "wags", the wives and girlfriends of footballers, "wardrobe malfunction" and "fashion forward", meaning someone embracing the newest fashion trends, the influence of popular culture can be seen with the additions of "nail bars" and "social networking".
The growing interest in cuisine also sees Thai food's "pad thai" enter the dictionary as well as "comfort food" and "dashi", a Japanese clear stock made from dried bonito.
