A Critical Moment: Understanding Obama's Acceptance Speech
Reviews of Obama's acceptance speech demonstrate that some of the more recognized political-pundits in both the traditional mainstream media and the new media tended to churn out reviews reflecting a tenuous ability to grasp deeper or complex meanings, reviews that were extremely superficial.
These political pundits are often the media's well-known public political voices, but they are public voices that frequently are distorted by a narcissistic conviction of self-entitlement. In fact, the truth of the matter is that they look at crucial political events, such as events now taking place in the presidential election, as their own sparkling merry-go-round where their last political love affair is simply an entrée to their next encounter.
Unable to grasp the deeper and more complex meanings of critically important political events makes these pundits unable to convey those deeper meanings to the public. Therefore, the American people are left unable to depend upon them to be sources of reliable information, particularly during times when especially urgent or decisive political situations might arise.
This detailed article presents a number of photographs and three videos (including the video of Obama's entire nomination acceptance speech). In addition, a remarkable photo-gallery documents Senator Obama's entire presidential campaign, which is accompanied by music audio. Live-Blogging 2008 Democratic Convention: Obama Wins Historic Presidential Nominat...
Wednesday afternoon, Barack Obama was officially named the Democratic Party's Presidential Nominee, crowning his groundbreaking, historic meteoric rise from a little-known Illinois state senator to becoming the first African-American ever to win a major-party’s presidential nomination.
Thursday night, the National Democratic Convention moves to Denver's Invesco Field so that more Americans can be a part of the fourth night of the Convention, where Barack Obama will accept the Democratic nomination for President. A crowd that is now estimated to be larger than 80,000 people is expected to attend the final convention assembly to hear Obama's acceptance speech.
Obama’s acceptance speech will be given on the 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, which King delivered from the steps of Washington's Lincoln Memorial on August 28th, 1963.
This article presents a number of photographs, a replayable live-blogging of Obama's nomination at the convention and three videos (including a video of Obama's nomination at the convention on Wednesday). In addition, a remarkable photo-gallery documents the entire course of Obama's presidential campaign, accompanied by music audio. Live-Blogging Day 2 of the 2008 DNC: The Hillary Kerfuffle
This article discusses and compares Michelle Obama's DNC speech given Monday evening to Hillary Clinton's convention speech given Tuesday night. Michelle's presentation was found to be fearless in its passionate reminder for us to “strive for the world as it should be,” and a brave defense of maintaining hope in the sometimes difficult pursuit of our dreams.
On the other hand, Clinton's address to the convention's delegates is found to be yet another display of the now well-known Clinton congenital narcissistic conviction of personal and political entitlement. In the end, Hillary's speech was all about her.
The article presents great photographs, a re-playable live-blog of Tuesdays events at the Democratic convention, two videos (including a video of Hillary's speech) and a remarkable photo-gallery that documents the entire course of Obama's presidential campaign, and is accompanied by music audio. Live-Blogging the 2008 Denver National Democratic Convention
There were two crowning moments during the first night of the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver. First, Michelle Obama presented the major address on Monday evening, which was a touching and eloquent call for us to “fight for the world as it should be” in order to assure the promise of a better life for all of our children.
Another memorable event was Senator Edward M. Kennedy, struggling with brain cancer, arriving at the convention in a triumphant appearance that evoked 50 years of party history. In his speech to the delegates, Kennedy invoked the parting remarks that he had made at the 1980 Democratic National Convention when he ceded the presidential nomination to Jimmy Carter, promising that “The dream will never die. The work begins anew, the hope rises again, and the dream lives on.”
This article presents a number of stunning photographs, the re-playable live-blog of Monday night's events at the Denver National Democratic Convention and three videos (including Dave Stewart's music video “The Prayer”, as well as the speeches given by Michelle Obama and Senator Edward Kennedy). In addition, it presents a remarkable photo-gallery, which is accompanied by music audio. There were two crowning moments during the first night of the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver.
