Momma's Man
Azazel Jacobs, a filmmaker, was home visiting his parents, being doted on and cared for, when, he says, "One morning I found food and coffee waiting for me. And I thought, Hey, why did I leave this? I thought it was funny, and I started toying around with that idea."
Out of that experience came the film, "Momma's Man," which is now traveling the festival circuit, about a grown man who goes back home to live with his parents. The kicker is that it stars Azazel's real life mother and father (who happens to be a famous avante garde filmmaker in his own right), and was shot in the childhood apartment he grew up in.
In making this film and showing it to audiences, Azazel has tested the strength of his own relationship with his parents, and how it exemplifies unique traits that our generation has with our parents.

Dances with Love
Exploring the issues of art and marriage in India, "In Her Own Footsteps" is the story of Sheeba, a beautiful and talented Indian dancer. Many female artists in India must stop performing after marriage if the husband decides against it. Eighty percent of Indian marriages are arranged, so a female artist may choose not to marry at all, but Sheeba was able to avoid this fate by marrying for love--against her parents wishes. Her husband Manish is a loving man from a different caste and religion who supports Sheeba in dance and in life. Ironically, Sheeba's mother, who taught her everything she knows, was not so lucky in her own marriage to Sheeba's tabla-playing father.
